Family: The Most Important Thing

We are blessed to have a wonderful family. Every one of our family members has helped in making us the people we are today. (I can hear you laughing.) I just thought it might be nice to add some pictures of family members Grant has had the pleasure of hanging out with recently. If you are not pictured below, you will be in the future. That is a threat AND a promise.

Kyla and Andrew!

Grandpa, Daddy, and Andrew!

Grandma!

Aunt Nancy and Great Grandma!

Great Grandma!

Family: We're Lucky to Have One

I don't often mention (or jump on a soapbox as it may be) to many people, other than those who had to see it because there was no way around it, the long road Ron and I have been on to build a family (and goodness we're only part of the way there), but a favorite blogger of mine has said it quite nicely. Exactly how I would in fact, so instead of writing my own, read hers. And for those of you less computer savvy, that means click here. This is something I hope you all take to heart/vote for/lobby for/donate to/think about/get awareness about/hug your family because of.

I hope you never have to read her post and dry your eyes with a napkin from yesterday's lunch so your co-workers can't see you cry because you really understand the raw emotions she is holding back, but if you do, her blog is a great place to start in gaining your composure about the situation. She will allow you to find humor in a humorless situation. And goodness, I hope you never do.

Family: It's Official

Chris no longer does this stuff purely for fun. (Well, it's still fun for her, but you know what I mean) Guess this means I have to start paying her. Awesome.

I still have yet to find a talent that we could swap for. Need any massive amounts of paperwork done in your near future sis?

P.S. 3 month (I know!) and 4 month (I know!) photo shoots coming soon, plus some stats, nursery, and some other stuff. Aaaaaand probably 5 month (I know!) photos by the time all that other stuff gets up and going. This weekend....

Family: Vegas

I know what you're thinking. Tall margaritas, slot machines, and big hotels on the strip. I. Wish. Nah, I'm talking, Vegas, as in our family dog. It's almost hard to talk about her as the family dog, as she is actually more like a member than a pet. And if you know Vegas, you know what I mean.

She is soon-to-be seven years old. Her birthday is April 15, tax day, so we could remember it. Because who lets tax day go by without thinking about it? Nobody, that's who. In fact we have a soft spot for April dog birthdays in this house. Reno, (go ahead giggle at the casino link, I'll wait) her, er, uh, cousin's birthday is April 1. Today actually. Ya, April fools, you can teach two adult female dobermans to like each other. Needless to say we love Reno, but she loves her new home with our friend Pat, more. So here we are. A one dog family again.

And as if we would have anyone other than Christine McGuigan take photos of our family, here you go.

Family: Home

This is the house we currently live in. We live in the western part of Omaha, technically not even in the city limits (which only means we pay for our trash service and can light of fireworks whenever we want, which comes in handy, ohhh…never). We’ve made some really great friends who are our neighbors, hopefully when we upgrade we can find a nice tri-plex for their familes.

Family: Wedding

Ron and I have been married for almost 5 years (Anniversary November 13, 2004). We met through, let’s say, “mutual friends”. We dated for a couple years and then got married, with everyone we could think of present. Or at least everyone that didn’t have something else better to do that day! (It was opening weekend of deer hunting season that year, ya know). Here are a couple of photos of what I thought was the best day of my life.

Best day of my life until Grant was born, that is.

Family: It's About Time

Well it is about time.

About time that I get this website going as to share photos and information and everything I can think of about our family. I’ll write about Ron and I, Grant, Vegas, future kids (hopefully), our Aunts and Uncles and Grandparents (yup…so don’t anything dumb because I’m gonna write about it!) and if you want to get a specific update, let me know. I’ll write about that also. This would theoretically take the place of the Christmas letter and the catch-up emails, and no longer give you an excuse to not know what my kids’ names are or what they look like. I can’t guarantee it will be funny, or interesting, or even that informational, but I’ll try. At least it will give you something to do while you should be working.
